Community Partnership

A major focus at Michaelhouse is to develop a lifelong service ethos in its boys and facilitate meaningful economic, social and environmental contributions to the development of the local community.

Michaelhouse boys are involved in local community schools, crèches and orphanges working together with other young people.

Boys are involved through House-Based Projects:

Founders - Upgrading of Asithuthuke School Classrooms - painting and replacing ceilings.

East - Upgrading of Asithuthuke School Classrooms. Replacing broken windows and painting of school buildings.

West - Boys help estate staff children is an organised English Reading Programme.

Farfield - Boys visit aged people at Greendale House in Howick.

Tatham - Boys are involved in coaching hockey, cricket and soccer at Nottingham Road Primary School.

Pascoe - Boys are involved in sports coaching and vegetable gardening at Hlanganani Primary School

Baines - Boys visit residents of Sunfield Home for mentally and physically challenged people.

Mackenzie - Boys visit Khazimula orphanage in Lidgetton, helping children with Homework, computer skills and sports coaching.
