Sharksmart Schools of Excellence Programme

Michaelhouse is proud to be associated with the Sharksmart Schools of Excellence Programme.

The Project is aimed at improving safety and manner in which participants take part in schools sport.

Schools which take part in the programme are required to put certain medical systems and facilities in place; and to perform certain tasks in order for them to be accredited as a Sharsmart School of Excellence.

Coaches, players and parents are encouraged to interact with Sharksmart via their website (www.sharksmart.co.za) and Facebook page, where opinions can be voiced and ideas exchanged. Monthly newslwetters will also keep readers abreast of interesting and relevant new topics.

Sharksmart also heightens awarness of the prevalence of doping in school sport, and have established a hotline where incidents relating to the use and distribution of steroids can be anonymously reported (hotline 0860 367464).
